Verjus is made of Muscat wine in which raisins are steeped. Some say it is the ancestor of the Martini. This red verjus is made by Belgian distillery L’Espérance from Liège.
You can drink the verjus as an apéritif or use it for cooking. The verjus-steeped raisins that are left at the end make a great addition to any sweet or savoury dish. We recommend you use them to make boulettes à la liégoise. A traditional meatball recipe from the region of Liège.
